New! Record Cleaning Machine

Just how clean are your LPs?

Here at Rat Records we take vinyl seriously, so seriously that we now have a record cleaning machine that cost more than my car. In our secret underground laboratory we are now the proud operators of the beast, the behemoth, the Loricraft PRC Mark 4 Record Cleaning Machine. http://www.garrard501.com/

This is not some old record deck with a hoover attached in a wonky chipboard box, this is just about the most expensive and effective record cleaning machine you can buy.

After generously bathing your lovely vinyl in immensely posh `L'art du Son' record cleaning fluid, Professor Dawson caresses her pert switches and then lovingly manipulates `Lori's' slender brass arm to gently remove years of accumulated crud from the playing surface of your beloved 7 or 12 inches, using her medical grade vacuum pump, before tenderly caressing the said treasured piece of vinyl into a pert Nagaoka anti-static inner sleeve.

This means that our best records are going to sound as good as they possibly can and much better than you remember, and we'll be cleaning of much of our vinyl as soon as possible.

Prof. Dawson and Dr. Giron will also be offering a professional record cleaning service to the public. Each record will be thoroughly cleaned, as above, and returned to you in an a new anti-static sleeve. You will be amazed just how dynamic your vinyl will sound. No-one else is doing this in London that we know of.

This service costs £2 per record. We'll do a bulk discount. Does that seem like a lot? Aren't your records important to you then? The Loricraft PRC Mark 4 Record Cleaning Machine costs £1600. Or you could just scrub all your favourite records, that you paid a fortune for and took years to find, with a brillo pad and some lighter fluid. It's up to you.

Are you a former employee who has gone on to much better things? Perhaps you are one of our stylish and fashionable customers? Yes, you too could feature here for mutual internet linking and backscratching...

Anthony Joseph

Poet, lecturer, author, academic, black belt, polymath and late period Marvin-lookalike Anthony wasted time helping us run the shop. Now look at him! Then check him out live and buy a CD because this is a pretty unique thing he's doing. He just played with Africa 80! He is on tour in France. Not fair.

Lou Ciccotelli

Master jazz drummer, african percussionist, yoga Jedi. Miles Davis expert, all-round nice guy and painter (and decorator) Lou has constantly helped us out over the years.

Dawn Walton

Dawn was great but decided she'd rather be a top director for the Young Vic and the Royal Court and run her own theatre company than work for me. Why? Actually she could even be prime minister if she wanted.

Gary Jeff

The Soundscape Doctor. Ex Mass and God Gary finally went west, West End that is, to manage a bookshop.

...MISSING IN ACTION...

Gary Boniface

Straightoutta Canvey Island. He's somewhere in Southend now, cutting digidub tunes. Former frontman of The Vibes and Bud Alzir. Tells some of the best rock stories ever. Get in touch Gary.
